How to Get More Involved with BBH Pride

It is  officially the season of giving, which is a great time to think of ways we can give back to our community. Finding an organization that aligns with your interests and beliefs is important. For some, that may be a local food bank, for others it may be an animal shelter or any other number of local organizations. If you have ever thought about getting more involved with BBH Pride, now is the perfect time!

There are several ways you can get involved with BBH Pride. We have opportunities for people of all time commitments and skill levels. Below are just a few ways you can get involved.

Supporter: Being a general supporter is the easiest way you can get involved with BBH Pride. What does being a supporter mean? Our supporters follow us along on our social media pages (Facebook and Instagram), attend a few events throughout the year, and join us at our general monthly meetings. These are all FREE to do and easy to work into your current commitments. The additional support and attendance at our events truly helps us create a welcoming and supportive community of allies and LGBTQ+ individuals. Interested in becoming a supporter? Join us on social media and consider coming to one of our upcoming events.

Volunteer: Looking to give back when it works for your schedule? We have so many great volunteer opportunities throughout the year. Our events, including Pride Fest, would not be possible without the help of our volunteers. Volunteer shifts are usually only 1-2 hours during the event, allowing you to still enjoy the event as an attendee. Volunteer spots are also a great way to meet others within the organization. Be sure to follow us on the  BBH Pride Community FacebookPage to get updates on upcoming volunteer opportunities.

Committee Members: Committees are a great opportunity for those looking to get a little more involved with BBH Pride and utilize their skills to help our organization. These individuals help us with planning throughout the year and help us implement new ideas. Committee tasks can include, but aren’t limited to: marketing, event planning, and outreach. Committees can also  be a stepping stone for those interested in a Board position.

Board Members: Our board members are the driving force of BBH Pride. They volunteer their time to bring our events to life, create scholarships for local students, and reach out to community leaders to advocate for the LGBTQ+ community. There are several categories that each have a Chair and Co-Chair position. Board positions are a perfect fit for those who want to make a deep impact.

If you are interested in learning more about these opportunities and meeting some of the BBH Pride members, join us on Friday, November 15th at 5:00pm at Broadview Brewing Company. We would love to meet you! The connections you make may just last a lifetime.
